10 Year Challenge: Some of our Favourite West End Performers!


There's a craze going around at the moment called 'The 10 Year challenge' and as we're welcoming in the new decade, we looked back at some of our favourite performers and did it for them! Lucie Jones

Gina Beck 


As Christine in the London production of Phantom of the Opera and as Miss Honey in Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre. James Gillan


As Colin in The Secret Garden at the Birmingham Rep and West Yorkshire Playhouse and as Tray Sophisticay in Everybody's Talking About Jamie at the Apollo Theatre. Sandra Marvin 


As Motormouth Maybelle in the UK Tour of Hairspray and as Becky in the London production of Waitress. George Ure 


George is the only one on our list to be playing the same role 10 years on! Having started in the London production of Wicked in the ensemble he started to play the role of Boq full time in 2010, since then he has appeared in the UK tour of the show and returned to the production in 2019. His other credits include Zaki in Big Fish (The Other Palace); Tobias in Sweeney Todd (Welsh National Opera, West Yorkshire Playhouse and La Monnaie De Munt); Tom in Millennium (Soho Theatre) and Rusty in Starlight Express (The Other Palace). 

Victoria Hamilton-Barritt


As Alex in the West End premier of Flashdance and as Jenny in Death of a Salesman at the Piccadilly Theatre. Other credits include Inez in The View Upstairs (Soho Theatre); Kate in The Wild Party (The Other Palace); Narrator in Murder Ballad (The Arts Theatre); Daniela in In The Heights (Southwark Playhouse & Kings Cross Theatre); Diana in A Chorus Line (London Palladium); Louise in Gypsy (Leicester Curve) and Rizzo in Grease (Picadilly Theatre). 

Clive Carter 


As the Wizard in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre and as Claude in the original London company of Come From Away. Other credits include Oklahoma! Landi Oshinowo 


In Sister Act at the London Palladium where she covered the role of Deloris and as Miss Phelps in Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre. Oliver Tompsett


As Fiyero in the London production of Wicked and as William Shakespeare in the original London cast of & Juliet at the Shaftesbury Theatre. Mazz Murray 


As the Killer Queen in her record breaking run in the London production of We Will Rock You and as Donna in Mamma Mia at the Novello Theatre. Her other credits include Mama Morton in Chicago (Phoenix Theatre); Patsy Cline in The Roy Orbison Story across the UK; Dusty Springfield in A Girl Called Dusty at the Duke Of York's; Tanya in Mamma Mia (Novello Theatre) and productions of Rent, Smokey Joe's Café, Fame, Only The Lonely, Boogie Nights and Pippin.

Adrian Hansel


As Seaweed in the original company of Hairspray and as Benny in Guys and Dolls and the Sheffield Crucible. Other credits include Rusty in Starlight Express (Apollo Victoria); Ain't Misbehavin' (Mercury Theatre, Colchester and Southwark Playhouse); The Distance You Have Come (Cockpit) and Alternate in Five Guys Named Moe (Marble Arch Theatre).

Rachel Tucker 


As Elphaba in the London production of Wicked and as Beverley in the original London company of Come From Away. As Ruth in All Male The Pirates of Penzance at the Union Theatre and Wiltons Music Hall and as Christopher Belling in Curtains on tour and in London's West End. Sharon D. Clarke


As Motormouth Maybelle in the last cast of Hairspray in London and as Linda Loman in Death of a Salesman. She won the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Caroline, Or Change (Chichester Festival Theatre/Hampstead Theatre/Playhouse Theatre). Caroline Sheen 


As the title role in Mary Poppins in the US Touring production and as Violet in the West End production of 9 to 5.
